Hello their fellow Self-care followers! We are happy to have you with us. If you are reading this, you are invested in your self-care and understand the importance of self-care for a healthy balanced life. Perhaps just knowing it does not feel enough. How does one practice it on a regular basis? One step you can take is to listen to the “Self-Care to Success in 15 Minutes or Less” podcast. Velocity Visions Inc. has provided a podcast that can reveal nuggets of wisdom in a short period of time. We even give you practices you can start right away! We have received positive feedback from our podcast and how helpful it has been, especially in the midst of all the busy things we have to balance each day. Boundaries

Setting boundaries helps support your mind, body, and spirit wellness. It is a way to show self-love and self-compassion. Setting Boundaries is not always easy or natural. It can be very challenging and even scary. However, with practice it can become easier and add to your health and life balance. Here are some tips to get started:

Step 1: Take a moment to sit and think about what you value in yourself.

Give yourself permission to do what’s best for you. If you’re not filling your cup, you are not operating in an optimal space to be 100% present for yourself and for those around you.

Step 2: Be clear about your needs to others.

Articulate that message to your family and friends. Communication will go a long way to help support your needs and the people around you.

Step 3: Practice saying “No”.

“No” is a complete sentence. Too often we engage in martyrdom situations to support others. This may cause more harm than help because we are not acknowledging what WE need at the time. When we consistently deny our own needs we say No to ourselves and yes to everything else.

Step 4: Consider strategies to support your boundary-setting

Strategies and practice are the ways to improve boundary setting. Some strategies include:

· Journaling

· Meditation

· Talking to someone

Gratitude:

Practicing being in a state of gratitude can change your life. The key to life-changing gratitude is to not make it mechanical. In order to achieve that state of being, it is important to reflect on all the good feelings that go with gratitude. Stay in that state of feeling gratitude as often as possible. Journal reflections and journal writing about gratitude can help enhance that feeling state. Make sure you are in touch with all the feelings of love and appreciation. You can exercise and strengthen that gratitude muscle.

Reflect on at least one of the following areas once a day to strengthen your gratitude muscle:

1. What is one thing about yourself that you are grateful for?

2. What is one thing about another person that you are grateful for?

3. What is one tangible or material thing you are grateful for?

4. What is something you once hated or disliked, but now you are grateful for?

While we know that these tips may take a while to get used to incorporating into your life, we want to congratulate you for taking the first step to enhancing your life by reading this blog post. Little steps over time make a significant difference.
